NRC’s crew available to the public

In the meeting held by the federal government’s nuclear watchdog, there was a reminder that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission remains an open agency when it comes to communications with both the public and nuclear workers.  As explained by Jared Nadel, NRC senior resident inspector at Oconee Nuclear, he and his staff are a phone call away.  His comments were triggered when a meeting participant questioned whether the federal agency sees a “chilled environment” for nuclear employees seeking to whistle-blow when it comes to things they see wrong.  Nadel said there’s a federal law that forbids an employer from taking an action against an employer to makes a whistle-blower’s report.
