Nothing stirring as a Sanctuary Pointe replacement, says spokeswoman

An official of the state PRT says the Sanctuary Pointe development team lost its hold on a Lake Hartwell peninsula for lack of “substantial progress” toward its plans to develop a destination resort at I-85 and SC 11.  Samantha Queen, director of corporate communications for Parks, Recreation and Tourism, went further in a 101.7/WGOG NEWS interview, saying that, at present, there’s nothing else in the offing for the property.  According to Queen, the process would have to revert to an RFP—a request for proposals—from anyone interested in developing the 325 acres.  And, she indicates, there’s nothing stirring on that at this time.  We should note the following clarification the peninsula is the property of the U-S Army Corps of Engineers.  The principals of Sanctuary Pointe held a sublease thru the state PRT.
