“NIL” to be explained to young Oconee athletes

Oconee public schools and the chamber of commerce are drawing attention to a meeting next week at which “NIL” — name, image, and likeness — is to be explained during a 6:30 pm meeting Thursday night, February 22 at the Hamilton Career and Technology Center, with the idea that student athletes receive information to help them qualify for compensation for their amateur athletic activities.  Announcement from Dari McBride, chamber president, says, “This meeting will be open to ALL student athletes regardless of what school they plan to attend.”
