Next up the June primary elections

South Carolina’s presidential preference primaries are history.  Next up on the election calendar are the state’s Democratic and Republican primary elections June 11.  They are held to allow the two political parties to decide their nominees for the November General Election ballot.  Oconeeans interested in qualifying as primary election candidates for any one of the various available offices should file with the county elections office in Walhalla between Saturday, March 16 and Monday, April 1.  This is one of those election years that, at least in November, will attract a big vote as the county voters not only choose a president, but a county sheriff.
