New law seen as bolstering foster care

A bill to extend foster care in South Carolina is now the law in South Carolina.  Governor McMaster signed H.3509, known as the Extension of Foster Care bill.  State Rep. Bill Sandifer says he was proud to have been a supporter of the bill.  The Fair-Town Times quotes the Seneca Republican as saying, “Under the new law, foster care youth will receive services until they reach 21 years of age, rather than 18.”  Extending foster care services to a youth’s 21st birthday qualifies South Carolina for expanded funding.
