New Kentucky flooding relief trip August 26

A Salem man is organizing a new trip to the flooded regions of Eastern Kentucky and is welcoming additional donations from members of the public.  Those relief items may be dropped off at the Salem Park Avenue home of Myrtle and Thurmond Coward, directly across from Town Hall.  This time Mr. Coward has been requested to drive a truck to the unincorporated community of Leburn in Knott County, Kentucky.  The following items are needed:  buckets, bleach, mops, hammers, crowbars, nails, paper towels, tools, wheelbarrows, sheet rock tape “a little bit of everything,” says Mr. Coward.  He plans to leave from Salem with the latest items collected on Friday, August 26.
