Near 20 acres recommended to annex to Seneca

Seneca corporate limits will expand by about 20 acres near WS 4th Street, if city council says yes to a planning commission recommendation.  The location adjoins Madison Pte. subdivision. At property owner Danny Holtzman’s request, the property is to leave an un-incorporated part of the county for the city.  But what zoning classification to assign proved a problem at last night’s city hall meeting.  For now, it is to carry a PDU–a planned development undeveloped zone.  The rub came when staffer Ed Halbig reported the fire department won’t sign off to a 51-home development unless an access road is built for fire trucks.
