Multiple resources used to stop wildfire

A wildfire last evening south of Seneca burned a vacant trailer and woodland and, for a time, approached a mobile home park.  At the scene, no injuries were reported, but Strawberry Farm Road resident Leslie Carver said the fire consumed a family trailer, but not the home of her and her husband.  Multiple fire resources were deployed, including fire line-digging equipment from the state. Twenty-first-century equipment belonging to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office was put into use to help the firefighters better understand what they faced.  Capt. Ken Washington and Sgt. Allen Sayre launched the sheriff’s office drone to capture aerial pictures of the fire.  Those pictures, they explained, were then sent electronically to the fire command.
