Multiple agencies investigating fatal plane crash

An NTSB investigator arrived yesterday at the rural, North Carolina fiery crash of a small plane which had earlier departed Oconee Regional Airport and left the pilot, the only one onboard, dead.  That investigator represents just one of a number of agencies that’ll make a report on what might have caused the Beechcraft 35 to crash in Orange County, North Carolina — not far from Virginia. The Journal quotes a North Carolina trooper as identifying the dead pilot as New Jersey resident, 68-year old John Bofinger Jr.  Jeff Garrison, manager of Oconee Regional, told 101.7/WGOG NEWS he did not know the pilot, but had often seen him around the airport where he kept the plane.
