Motorist air flighted after car-train accident
Public safety responders say the car involved in yesterday’s train accident near Oconee Regional Airport wound up around one-quarter of a mile down the track from the spot of impact. And in the vicinity of Carradine Road they found the injured. In the meantime, a medical helicopter landing was arranged at the airport. David Owens of Oconee Emergency Services said the accident involved a train on a Norfolk Southern seldom-used spur track, between Anderson and West Union.
