Moment of silence and dedication

At the city administrator’s urging, Walhalla dedicated its new budget in the memory of the late Ricky O’Kelley, a valued water plant employee who died in 2021 from COVID-19.  A special moment of silence was observed during last night’s council meeting to remember a man who, according to City Administrator Brandon Burton, always had a story to tell and yet was an integral part of city government – not only as a skilled water plant worker but a trouble shooter to fill other city needs.
