Mefleh’s seat to be decided in November

When Westminster voters fill out their General Election ballot in November, they will also decide who gets to fill the unexpired term of Yousef Mefleh, the city councilman who died unexpectedly on Saturday.  Kristie Burr, the elections director, says they have permission to combine filling the council seat and the November 8 General Election.  Westminster city residents with interest in succeeding Mefleh and completing a four-year term which started last January 1 may file their intentions as early as Friday, September 1 with the county’s elections office at Walhalla.
