Meeting purpose to tamp down the rate of home violence

The doors to the Walhalla Middle School open at 6 o’clock for what the county sheriff says will be an important public information meeting to start at 6:30.  Tonight the sheriff’s office will draw attention to the continuous and increasing problems of violence in the home.  Keynote speaker to be Michael Cogdill, retired TV news anchorman who experienced domestic abuse as a child.  Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says, for a time, Oconee experienced a drop in domestic violence investigations, but lately has seen an increase.
