Meaningful Clemson traffic relief 10 years off

According to a regional planner, ten years or more are liable to pass before there’s substantial relief to city of Clemson traffic congestion—including the much-complained about 123 between the Seneca River Bridge and the College Street intersection.  Keith Brockington of “G-PATS”–Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation, says Clemson is starting a study of what can be done to improve 123, SC 93, and major intersections in the university town.  Because federal funding will be requirement the improvements, Brockington says meaningful relief won’t come until, perhaps, the other side of a decade from now.  Some in the crowd at Clemson last week for the “G-PAT’s” long-range plan made good suggestions, according to Brockington.  And there’s one more chance to weigh-in on the Greenville-Pickens traffic issues during this evening’s 4 to 7 pm drop-in meeting in Easley, at that city’s new public works facility.
