Mayor Hall proclaims Arbor Day

Walhalla visitor Kylie Stackis is enthusiastic about the city’s accomplishments as a tree city, and a place that encourages its residents to plant a tree.  Trees were being given away today in an event on Main Street in the Tree City.  And Stackis of Trees Upstate complimented the local turnout and interest.  Mayor Tim Hall issued an April 26 Arbor Day proclamation and, speaking to 101.7/WGOG NEWS, paid tribute to the city’s tree efforts. The mayor’s proclamation notes that “trees provide numerous benefits to our communities, including improving air quality, reducing soil erosion, providing habitat for wildlife, enhancing property values, and beautifying our surroundings….”
