Manhunt ends with arrest of shooting suspect

A five-hour manhunt ended last night at Toccoa, Georgia with the arrest of a 26-year old man accused of firing a weapon at a resident on Christine Circle, a incident law enforcement described as an altercation between residents.  The Stephens County sheriff, Randy Shirley, said bullets struck a patrol vehicle, but no one was hurt in the entire ordeal. However, a dog was shot.  Authorities identified the man in custody after obeying an order to surrender as Tristen Levi Grafton.  Grafton has been sought since September 8 as “a person of interest” — the result of shooting on Toccoa’s Davis Avenue.  This week the Christine Circle altercation between neighbors started Sunday and resumed yesterday.  In the manhunt, streets were closed, schools and daycares went under lockdown, and Toccoans flocked onto social media to wonder, worry, and speculate.
