Magistrate enjoys his new digs

The new county magistrate’s office at Westminster comes with all the bells and whistles that a jurist could want.  But it’s not just ideal for Magistrate Will Derrick.  There are roomy features for the accused, for the aggrieved, for jurors, and for staff.  It came at what some see as a stiff price tag–about $1 million dollars.  County Councilman Julian Davis and County Administrator Amanda Brock are glad to finally see a finished a project that was in the planning stages 10 years ago.  The office is located on Westminster’s E. Main Street.  The court no longer has to put up with cramped facilities in an old building on Windsor.  Besides Davis and Brock, early attendees of an office drop-in this morning were Mayor Brian Ramey, City Councilman Yusef Mefleh, and City Administrator Kevin Bronson.
