Longtime United Way leader steps down

This is Carol Burdette’s last year as president/CEO of the Anderson County United Way.  After 22 years on the job, preceded by 13 years voluntary service, Burdette is retiring, but will stay on the job through the end of this year to ensure a transition.  She’s especially proud that a women’s leadership initiative with the AnMed and Anderson County schools has driven down the teenage pregnant rates by 81%.  A search committee has been formed to identify a qualified successor.
