Long-time educator stabbing victim

A long-time northeast Georgia school teacher is identified as a stabbing victim in rural Stephens County.  An arrest has been made.  Reports carried by Toccoa WNEG and Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR indicate an arrest and charges of murder and aggravated assault against 39-year-old Toccoa resident Christopher Vaughn. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Stephens deputies responded yesterday morning to a call at a home on the Bart Holcomb Road and found 63-year-old William James Vaughn dead in his home.  Christopher Vaughn was found locked inside a room. Found at a home nearby, a second victim with serious injuries, 62-year-old Janet Lynn Vaughn, and airlifted to a nearby hospital.  The radio reports quote Melanie Burton-Brown, superintendent of Franklin County public schools, as saying Janet Vaughn taught elementary school in that county 27 years and currently works as a substitute teacher.
