Local group plans next Kentucky flood trip this month

The 22nd of September, a Thursday, has been chosen as the next trip by a group with Salem connections to the area of flood-ravaged Kentucky communities.  A spokesman for the group says thank you to everyone who has supported the Kentucky ventures with donations of important life-sustaining food stuffs and other materials.  This next trip, it is being planned, will bring to the flood victims food for cooking and meal-servings.  They hope to transport enough food to allow for a five-day menu.  Most needed are ground beef, pre-made hamburger patties, bacon, hot dogs, chicken, large cans of baked beans, kidney beans corn, packs of taco seasoning, one-gallon freezer bags, aluminum foil, individual bags of chips, including large Doritos.  You may make money donations and leave Walmart gift cards.  For more information:  864/247-8535.
