Leigh Baker to eventually return to Westminster

Leigh Baker sloughed off a reporter’s suggestion last night that he might sing the words to “California Dreaming.”  After a two-year stay in Westminster, Baker is returning to California to take advantage of an opportunity that was described as too good to turn down. Baker was accorded “special recognition” last night of the city council for the work he has done in his relatively short time as city utilities director.  Baker became known as the type that, in the event of a tree down on a power line, would roll up his sleeves and help remove it.  And, as Mayor Ramey put it, Baker didn’t patch things–he fixed them.  In response to Westminster’s special recognition, Baker last night announced that, in a few years, his plan is to retire in the Westminster area.
