Latest (and the final) ballot candidates

The new names are two people familiar to politics in two Oconee municipalities.  Former Councilman Josh Holliday, long-time school principal, is seeking one of the available three Walhalla Council seats; Donna Peppers will make a new try to land one of the four available Seneca Council seats.  With the passing of the qualifying deadline today, the field of November 7 ballot candidates is set in the towns and cities across Oconee.  The most desired seats are three Walhalla Council positions.  The following ten men and women are the candidates:  Josh Holliday, Dan Holman, Kenny Johns, Jacob Keehn, Micah Keehn, Freddie Lopez, Lynn McClain, Sarai Melendez, James Phillips, and Josh Thomas.  For Walhalla mayor:  a two-way race–Sherri Campbell and Tim Hall.  Kenny Johns and Abby Keehn are the candidates to fill an unexpired term in a special election November 7.  In Seneca, there are five candidates for the available four council positions:  Scott Durham, WC Honeycutt Jr, Donna Peppers, Denize Rozman, and Joel Ward.  There is no ballot opposition this year in Westminster as Mayor Brian Ramey and Council incumbents Adam Dunn, Audrey Reese, and Daby Snipes are all unopposed.  Same can be said of Salem where Mayor Lynn Towe and Council candidates Leigh Roach and Kevin Talley have no ballot opposition for two council seats there.  In West Union, Mayor Linda Oliver is unopposed for re-election.  Three candidates seek two available council seats:  Dixie Meeks, Stephanie Owens, and Lisa Wilson.
