“Lameduck” chairman keeps his seat, for now

“You deserve it.  You’ve done a good job.”  With those congratulatory words, Jim Codner, for now, keeps his seat as chairman of the Oconee Board of Zoning Appeals. Codner last night accepted re-election as board chairman, with the understanding to his colleagues that his days on the board could be numbered.  A recent vote by the appointing authority, Oconee County Council, was inconclusive regarding Codner’s seat as the District One member.  But, in the meantime, he’s pleased to stay on in the duty of presiding chairman.
