Jury to get the case of Balsitis vs. Walker

Defendant Wade Walker is scheduled to take the stand as the final witness in an Oconee County trial that is a property damage dispute between two sets of Lake Keowee neighbors.  Walker’s wife, Kimberly, testified late yesterday afternoon and engaged in a mild to spirited cross-examination by plaintiff’s attorney Keith Denny.  Denny represents Scott and Annette Balsitis, who claim water damage to their Mandalay Way property near Seneca is the fault of the Walkers.  Their lawsuit preys for damages of nearly $50 thousand dollars.  Trial started Monday.  At one point yesterday, Judge McIntosh ordered the attorneys into his chambers try to elicit an in-trial settlement.  But the judge announced to the courtroom that the lawyers for both parties say the differences remained such that the jury should be the ones to decide the case.  And the way this morning is lining up, the jury is likely to get the case for deliberations around the noon hour.
