Judge’s ruling expected soon

The parties involved in the Townville shooting cases from 2016 are likely to learn soon whether a life-plus sentence for the shooter may be reduced, according to what one court officer told 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  At the circuit level, the decision rests with Judge Lawton McIntosh of Anderson.  In May, McIntosh heard Jesse Osborne apologize for fatally shooting his father at the family home, then driving to Townville Elementary School where he killed a first grader, wounded a second student, and wounded a teacher.  At the time, Osborne was 14 years old. McIntosh delayed making a decision at the May hearing to allow a defense psychiatrist to submit additional information on Osborne’s behalf.
