Jonathan Gettys, a body-builder extraordinaire

A young man made a return visit yesterday to WGOG Radio, having not stepped into the building since he was a child.  Here at the station, Jonathan Gettys back in the day used to grab a nap in the back while his granddad, Wayne Morton, pulled an announcer’s shift on the station.  The changes Gettys has undergone are remarkable.  He’s towering in height and ripped when it comes to his physique.  Jonathan and his older brother, Michael, were high school baseball talents in Gainesville, Georgia, which made Wayne and Donna Morton proud grandparents in Seneca.  These days Michael is a Double-A minor league baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox organization; and Jonathan is a former Valdosta State college pitcher, who earlier had been recruited by college baseball powerhouse LSU.  An injury forced Jonathan to turn away from baseball to a new obsession:  bodybuilding.  He’s 6’ 1 1/2”, around 225lbs (morning weight).  He’ll be a contestant in an exhibition within a couple of weeks in Charlotte, North Carolina.
