Interdenominational event to attack hunger

Walhalla’s College Street Baptist Church will be the location Saturday morning for an interdenominational event to help feed the world’s hungry.  Donna Manley Pankratz says her church, Walhalla Presbyterian Church is partnering with the Church of the Ascension in Seneca, and they expected around 100 volunteers to package meals for the organization Rise Against Hunger to send to those in need.  A similar event a year ago at the West Union Fire Department produced 18 thousand meals that went to a children’s orphanage in Nicaragua.  Manley Pankratz explains part of the inner satisfaction volunteers is that the meals sent from Oconee are liable to make for the only meals that the recipients will have for a day.
