In the offing, a decision by local Methodists

Their minister predicts that Walhalla Methodists will be no shrinking violets when it comes to whether to splinter away or remain affiliated under the umbrella of the United Methodist Church (UMC).  The Rev. Kevin Lindley is speaking of his congregants, the members of the St. Luke United Methodist Church.  They like other Methodists across the country are approaching a decision whether LGBTQ and other issues will drive them to “dis-affiliate.”  In an interview record for ‘Community Soundoff”, the Rev. Mr. Lindley spoke with admiration for St. Luke Methodists and their care for human beings.  The UMC is 2,000 churches strong across the country, but splits could drain memberships because of the controversy that swirls over church stances.
