In memory of a slain deputy sheriff

By order of the governor, flags on state buildings were lowered from sunrise to sunset yesterday in tribute to Deputy Austin Derek Aldridge of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.  Aldridge died this month in the line of duty, as noted by Governor McMaster’s executive order, a man who dedicated his life to protect and serve the public.  Asides from the directive covering state buildings, McMaster requested all flags over the buildings of political subdivisions be flown at half-staff.
