I-85 northeast Georgia traffic fatality

The sheriff in Hart County, Georgia–Mike Cleveland–was at a loss this week to understand why the driver of an 18-wheeler lost control and ran his rig off I-85 and to his death.  A report by Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR does not identify the deceased by name, but states that several water trucks were required to put out the fire that resulted when the 18-wheeler left the interstate just south of the 177 on-ramp.  The accident occurred around 5 pm Wednesday as the 18-wheeler was southbound.  By 9 o’clock that night, fire crews continued to douse the smoldering truck so they could extricate the body.
