How Emergency Services views the latest weather update

Scott Krein, director of Oconee Emergency Management, comments on the latest update from the weather service:  “We are still looking for extreme cold weather to move in tonight.  It looks like today will be the last day above freezing until Sunday afternoon for a little while.   Some of our higher elevations may see even colder temperatures.
We will likely see wind chill numbers below zero.  Please bundle up and cover the skin if you are outside.  The moisture is hit and miss most likely the higher elevations will see more than our lower elevations.  We are most concerned about the black Ice and freezing condition in the early hours Friday morning.   If you find that you have to drive please give yourself more time and slow down.”
