How a neighboring county is dealing with growth
The Pickens County Planning Department wishes to engage the citizenry in meetings about population growth in a county that sits between Oconee and Greenville counties. It’s the planning department’s hope that any concerned county resident participates in future meetings, including 6 to 7 pm Thursday, June 1 at the Capt. Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library at Easley. At this meeting, they will invite discussion of proposed updates to the Pickens County Unified Development Standards Ordinance, adopted in the 1990s.
