Homicide suspect’s arrest occurred locally

The Georgia woman arrested and charged with a Monday night murder in Walhalla was described this afternoon by the Walhalla chief as being cooperative in his department’s investigation.  Lakeisha McLendon, Hartwell resident, is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Terrance Boyd, a Walhalla man who lived with his father at a home on Moore Avenue.  Walhalla Chief Tim Rice also disclosed that his department secured evidence during a search warrant executed at a Hartwell location.  Rice said McLendon was arrested in Walhalla.  Asked if there were eyewitnesses to Boyd’s death, Rice said there are witnesses who’ve come forward to offer information for the investigation.
