Hit-run incident leads to crash into building

A combined investigation by the state patrol and the Seneca police led to charges against a pair of drivers in an incident that started outside the city limits and finished behind the middle school.  Law enforcement records show the arrest Wednesday of Joel Edward Watson on charges of hit-run accident with property damage, refusal to accompany arresting officer, and fail to report striking fixtures on highway.  The Seneca police started their investigation by photographing a home on E. Perkins Creek Road, damaged when a vehicle struck the garage.  Their investigation led to a drive behind tennis courts at the middle school where, according to the police, 47-year old Watson was placed in investigative detention.  The police quoted Watson as saying he was following another vehicle that struck his vehicle on N. Radio Station Road.  According to the police, a state trooper eventually issued a citation in connection with the collision reported on N. Radio Station Road in front of Lowe’s Home Improvements.
