Heavy fire damage to single-family home

At mid-day on Friday a plume of smoke remained visible throughout Walhalla — from a single-family home fire on Frederick Drive near S. Boundary Street.  No one reported hurt, but as many as five people were displaced by the fire, about which city fire fighters were alerted at 11 am. The Frederick Drive home remained a fire scene late into the afternoon.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Walhalla Fire Department.
