Hearing slated for Clemson infrastructure project

City of Clemson seeks an outside grant to replace waterlines and non-standard hydrants east of the corporate limits.  Clemson is pursuing a Community Development Block Grant of nearly $686 thousand dollars for a project to benefit 113 people in the area of east of Anderson Highway between New Hope Road, Pendleton Road, and Old Stone Church Road.  Benefits are described as increased fire protection and improved water pressure.  Clemson would be required to supplement the grant with local monies of $68,591.  Comments on or questions about the project are invited to be made during a public hearing 5:30 pm Monday, April 3 at City Hall.
