Health agency heartened by drop in virus numbers

Oconee and the 45 other South Carolina counties, rated by the CDC, are now in a low transmission category for the spread of COVID-19, and the state’s assistant epidemiologist says her agency is encouraging by the drop of case numbers.  However, Dr. Jane Kelly recommends that everyone remain vigilant to the possibility of another outbreak, such as the ones caused by two nasty variants over the last year.  ABC NEWS reports the president is promoting the launch of COVID.gov, a new website to help Americans get better access to vaccines, tests, treatments and masks, along with area-specific updates on COVID-19 spread.
