Ham radio enthusiasts to showcase their skills

Members of the Keowee Toxaway Amateur Radio Club will take part in a national amateur radio field day exercise this weekend on the grounds of Duke’s World of Energy in Oconee County.  Ham radio operators or, Hams, as they are called will showcase the science and skill of amateur radio operators.  The event Saturday and Sunday afternoons is open to the public.  It’s a good way to learn about electronics, physics, meteorology, and other scientific disciplines.  Hams also go into action when standard communications are interrupted during disasters or emergencies.  For more information about Field Day or amateur radio, contact Rick Davis at [email protected]/what-is-ham-radio
