Graduation time brings mixed emotions

You can’t blame the seniors of Oconee’s three high schools if they are feeling the excitement, along with some apprehension, as graduation day approaches.  It’s Saturday, May 28 for local high schools.  At Walhalla High, Principal Steve Garrett says a couple of traditional events are bringing home the reality that diploma day is near.  They include the annual senior walk and the senior prom, to which members of the junior class were invited.  While May 28th will be an exciting day, it’s likely to be a day that graduates will realize they might never see some of their classmates because of the different paths their lives will follow.
