Government grant for Westminster “Streetscape”

Westminster has been approved for a grant of three-quarters of a million dollars.  On its way to Oconee’s third largest city is $750 thousand dollars of Community Development Block money, funded by the U-S Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Reagan Osbon, assistant city administrator, says the monies are to be applied for downtown streetscape work taking in Retreat Street and parts of Main Street.  Westminster must supplement the award with $550 thousand, for a total project cost of $1.3 million.
