Goss apprehended near the Dr. John’s Road

A 38-year old man after an attack on a woman in Walhalla was captured early afternoon yesterday in the vicinity of the Dr. John’s Road and the Phillip Lear Road south of Westminster.  Ralph Jake Goss Jr., Columbia address, faces charges that he attacked a woman, armed with a knife, Sunday night in a W. Main Street, Walhalla laundry.  Master Deputy Jimmy Watt, sheriff’s office spokesman, gave the following account:  “…Goss Jr. was spotted by a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau.  It appears that Goss Jr. ran from our depuity and investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and some SLED agents were also in the area and responded quickly.  He was taken to the Oconee County Detention Center after his arrest.”  Announced charges against  Goss are kidnapping, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.
