Georgia man accused of stealing Oconeean’s ring

An Oconee County woman has been reunited with her diamond engagement ring, and the county sheriff’s office has arrested a Georgia man on charges of grand larceny.  Law enforcement records show the man arrested is a 30-year old resident of Martin, Georgia – Zachary Dewain Butler.  The theft was reported April 26 when the owner, a West Union area resident, noticed that the $2,500 dollar engagement ring, which she kept in a caddy in a bathroom, was missing.  A few days earlier a repair crew worked in the home.  The investigating officer quoted the victim as saying that even though the ring was eventually returned, she wishes to press charges.
