Georgia I-85 lane closures to be suspended

For the benefit of Thanksgiving motorists, Georgia DOT will suspend I-85 lane closures starting at 5 o’clock tomorrow morning through 10 o’clock Sunday night.  This is considered especially good for drivers headed south on 85 where G-DOT crews are widening a 15-mile section.  Similar restrictions are to facilitate holiday traffic over Christmas and New Year’s.  Nevertheless, crews may still work near highways, and, for safety reasons, certain long-term lane closures may be maintained.  Moderate traffic is anticipated today and the heaviest and congestion starts at the noon hour tomorrow.
