Friday’s Expected Heat will move kickoff time

Walhalla’s first-year head football coach, Chris Stone, has informed WGOG that Friday’s game at Greenville County’s Woodmont High School will kick off at 8 p.m. The Wildcats will host the Razorbacks in Friday night’s season opener for Walhalla. Woodmont opened their season last Friday with a victory over Palmetto. The move is due to the potential for temperatures Friday to climb to near record high values with upper 90s common for east of the mountains.  The fear for Friday evening is that, in some locations, a slight increase in humidity may push the apparent temperature into a range of 100 to 105.  Normal starting time is 7:30 but the hope is the extra 30 minutes will allow for somewhat cooler conditions by game time. 101.7/WGOG will again carry the season’s slate of Razorbacks games, home and away. Friday’s Tailgate Show will start at 6:30 p.m. Returning once again is the broadcast team of David Lyles, play-by-play; and Nick Bunning, color.
