Future Seneca road building to meet standards

By action of the city planning commission, an ordinance will go before the Seneca City Council that’ll require a set of standards for the construction of new streets within the city.  It appears such an ordinance would prevent a home developer burdening his homeowners and the city with the costs to maintain a road or street of inferior quality.  Last night the planning commissioners deferred to Ed Halbig, their staff liaison, the idea of recommending such an ordinance for council approval.  According to Halbig, a road ordinance has the support of both Ernie Beck, city public works director, and Bob Faires, utilities director.  Faires attended last night’s planning commission meeting.
