Former Senecan to vie for high court seat

Former Seneca resident Letitia Verdin is one of a half dozen hopefuls to land a seat on the state’s highest court, the South Carolina Supreme Court.  Verdin an attorney from Greenville now sits on the state’s appeals court.  She’s a daughter of the late Angela and Harry Hamilton of Seneca.  The state Judicial Merit Selection Commission has set Thursday, May 9 for a public hearing to consider the qualifications of Verdin and five other candidates for Supreme Court Seat 3.  Persons wishing to testify at the hearing should furnish written, notarized statements of proposed testimony by 12 noon Thursday, April 25.
