Five weeks of criminal court in two months

July and August might not be the best months for officers of Oconee General Sessions Court to take vacations.  Lisa Burton, county clerk of court, has confirmed to 101.7/WGOG NEWS that there will be a total of eight weeks of OGS at the courthouse during July and August.  This is seen as an opportunity for the court to dispose of many of the cases on the docket. In July, there will be one jury term and one non-jury week.  August will see three weeks of court—one with a jury and two without a jury.
