Five graduate from manufacturing apprentice program

Five apprentices graduated recently from a program that leads to full-time jobs at Seneca’s BASF plant.  The five who finished the North American Apprenticeship Development Program were Chelsea LaCasse, Valerie Mayes, Taylor Sargent, Jason Overfelt and Vonda White.  The apprentices attend school one day a week and work on-site at BASF the rest of their 40-hour schedule.  At the end of the program, they can move to other full-time roles and they see their pay raised to $22.50 an hour.  BASF announces 10 new job openings for full-time process operation technician apprentices at the plant.  That arrangement offers $21.50 an hour.  No experience is required.  The program offers lab and on-job training, along with a certificate in Production Technology from Tri-County Technical College.
