Federal monies OK’d for regional sewer system

Agreement has been reached in the federal spending bill to allot town of Pendleton $5.3 million to expand its wastewater plant.  The expansion project also benefits the city of Clemson and the county of Anderson as partners in the treatment plant that operates from Woodburn Road, Pendleton.  Frank Crenshaw, Pendleton mayor, says the continuous growth of the tri-counties fuels the need to increase sewer treatment capacity.  According to Crenshaw, the so-called secret of the tri-county area has long gotten out and that translates to better utility infrastructure requirements.
