Fake money investigation in Oconee

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in a counterfeit money investigation.

 

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in relation to the investigation.

 

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to the Dollar General, on Wells Highway near Seneca, on October 26th in regard to a white male who paid for merchandise using fake $20 dollar bills.  The incident occurred around 8:15pm on the evening of October 14th, 2022.

 

The white male that Investigators are attempting to identify has dark long brown hair, a beard, tattoos on his left shoulder and was wearing a black tank top and black pants.

 

The counterfeit money was placed into evidence and the investigation has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
